Employee of the Year - Tina Morales
The Employee of the Year - Commitment to Excellence was awarded to Tina Morales, Office Clerk for the Parks & Recreation Department. Tina's outstanding customer service and dedication to her job earned her this honor. Tina provides a positive attitude, infectious good spirit, and attention to detail while tending to her tasks handling the public registering at the park, both in person and on the phone. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure all of our visitors have a great experience while at the park. |

Innovation Award - Rob Norwood
The Innovation Award was awarded to Rob Norwood, Golf Course Pro Shop Attendant. Rob played an important role in the day-to-day operations around the golf shop, was instrumental in helping with updating the pro shop and repairing of buildings and structures on the course. In the past year, he worked to complete installation of a range ball dispenser with housing, repair of flooring, doors and walls in the starter's building, and installation of a new roof on the restroom/shelter on the golf course. These are just a few examples of the skills and resources that Rob brought to the facility in 2009.

Community Interaction Award - Mike Hornback
The Community Interaction Award was presented to Mike Hornback, Park Ranger at Kerrville-Schreiner Park. Mike is known for the excellent service and interaction with all who pass through the gates at the park. Mike goes the extra mile in making the park visitor's stay enjoyable, whether it is giving a customer directions or helping a first time camper set up their rig. His detail to daily routines and intervention with visitors ensures a positive reflection on the park and the City of Kerrville. Mike sets a standard that inspires all employees. |

Director's Award - Debra Lenard & Scott McDonough
Scott McDonough, General Manager of Golf / Tennis and Debra Lenard, Office Manager of Park & Recreation were both recognized with the Director's Award for 2009. Both Scott and Debra received their awards for their consistent willingness to step up and take on additional responsibility other than the traditional roles in the organization.
Scott's positive attitude and leadership abilities have allowed him to wear more than one hat while continuing to have a successful and well managed golf course and tennis center. Debra has assisted with many department programs and events while maintaining her primary job duties and efficiently sustaining the Parks and Recreation Headquarters office. Debra has a very team oriented state of mind and has been a true asset to the department. |
