City Enters Stage 1 Water Restrictions
Stage 1 of the City of Kerrville's water management plan will become effective at 12:01 am on August 18, 2010. These restrictions are imposed in order to conserve water. The City is taking a proactive approach to ensure supplies are sufficient should there be a prolonged period of dry weather.

2010 Summer Recreation Guide
The City of Kerrville seeks to provide a variety of quality and diverse leisure opportunities in the setting of our public facilities located throughout the city. Find a program or activity to enjoy – camping, biking, golf, swimming, reading, as well as many others.
We are adding programs and services in order to improve the quality of life that makes Kerrville a special place to live, work and play. Unless designated otherwise, registrations and reservations will be accepted beginning May 1st at the Parks & Recreation Headquarters located in Kerrville-Schreiner Park, while those interested in golf, tennis and library activities should register at their respective locations. Pre-registration is required unless otherwise designated. Please join us for a fun, safe and active year!

Public Safety Departments Issue Awards
On June 22nd, the City of Kerrville’s Police and Fire Departments issued awards to several public safety personnel. Office Jonathan Cline received the Kerrville Police Officer of the Year aware while Sergeant Mary Krebs and Officer Paul Gonzales were recognized for excellence in police work and individual merit for their performance.
Additionally, Firefighter/Paramedic Brandon Miller received the Kerrville Fire Department’s Firefighter of the Year award for 2010 and Fire Lieutenants Mark Dunning and Brian Hammer were recognized for successfully completing training at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Grape Juice a Finalist in TDA Awards Program
Grape Juice in Kerrville has been named a finalist in the Best Commerical Interior category for the 2010 Texas Downtown Association (TDA) Presidents Awards Program. The business was submitted for this award by the Kerrville Main Street Program in late July following months of collaboration with Grape Juice owners Patrick and Keri Wilt on the rigorous application process. Applicants are asked to fill out an application, submit a narrative describing the entry, prepare a PowerPoint presentation showcasing the business and write a script detailing the PowerPoint presentation. Main Street Manager Johnna Wade stated,
“I am thrilled that Grape Juice is a finalist for the 2010 Texas Downtown Association Presidents Awards Program. It will be an honor to share Grape Juice and the City of Kerrville with the attendees at the Texas Downtown Revitalization Conference in November.”
